Rangehood Filter Measurement Guide

Choosing the correct replacement rangehood filter depends primarily on the dimensions and latch configuration of your existing filter. Do not rely on the rangehood brand alone, as different models from the same brand may use different filter sizes.

How to Measure Your Rangehood Filter

Remove your existing filter and measure it in millimetres (mm). Measure the filter itself rather than the opening in the rangehood.

A – Width
Measure the overall width of the filter from edge to edge.

B – Height
Measure the overall height of the filter from edge to edge.

C1 – Clip Inner Distance
Measure the inner distance between the two bottom metal clips.

C2 – Clip Outer Distance
Measure the outer distance between the two bottom metal clips.

H – Handle Width
This indicates the width of the latch/handle area. For our replacement filters, this is generally a standard size and does not normally affect fitment.

How Much Measurement Difference Is Acceptable?

A difference of approximately 1–2mm is generally acceptable. For example, if your existing filter measures approximately 279 × 364mm, a 280 × 365mm replacement may be suitable, provided the latch configuration also matches.

Should I Choose a Filter by Brand or Size?

Choose your replacement filter primarily by its measurements and latch configuration rather than the rangehood brand alone. Rangehoods from brands such as Chef, Westinghouse, Simpson and others may use different filter sizes across different models.
